The job I lost
I worked on power plants traveled around the world, been to Europe and Africa and many places in the states to work on power plants.I am a welder, but when the economy went down my company started to lay off and I was one of the ones that they laid off. I have been a welder for about 13 years. I made good money at what I was doing. I was bringing home anywhere between 2300.00 to 3500.00 a week, but when I got my lay off slip I went to the unemployment office and then found out that my family would be living off of 515.00 a week
What it's like being unemployed
It really sucks being unemployed. I'm used to supporting my family but when I was on unemployment we hardly could keep the bills paid. I started going to college to futher my education so when I found a job it would help me out got passed the first semester made the deans list with a gpa of 3.97 and on the day I was to go back for the next semester found out that I don't get any more unemployment. So I couldn't go back to school my school is an hour away from my house and I'm trying my best to find a job so me and my family don't lose our house and every thing that we have. There was no notice or nothing that I weren't getting any more money. The government doesn't mind doing you wrong, they don't have to worry about where there next meal is coming from or if they are going to be homeless its just wrong. All in one day I find out that my wife's mom has less than a year to live and I have no income to support my family. This is the worst year ever.
Advice
- Im just hoping for a 5th tier at least til I can find a job. Here in this small town I live in there aren't many jobs.
- Please Gov.start thinking about us little people not just the ones up in the house and senate that don't have to worry about money.
