The job I lost
I worked for a smaller Manufacturing Company as a Project Coordinator. I had been there almost 4 years and was promoted to a salary position in 7/2010. In
February of this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Coming back I was demoted and my pay was cut. I resigned as this was a total ADA violation. I am trying to get unemployment and even though they have everything to prove this, I am still waiting. The EEOC accepted my charge and as well as great employment law attorney. The only restriction I had coming back was not to lift over 10 pds. Nice right!
What it's like being unemployed
Horrible, even though my husband works. We were a two person income. We may have to move from our house to an apartment. I have been applying everywhere I can. What do I tell these people as I am still in recovery with my breast cancer? I am trying to stay positive, that it will all work out in my favor. I do not understand how some people are so ignorant to the laws these days when they own a company with 35 employees.
Advice
- Look for am employer with morals and values and make sure they are in tune with all the employment laws, to protect yourself.
