What I Did:
I was asked to come from another state to take a job from someone I thought was a good and ethical person. It lasted 4 months and cost me 1,700.00 to get here. The apartment I was to move into after driving 1200 miles was not ready. It was part of my contract to have housing.
Why was it a bad job?
I was an assistant manager to a person that was not very reputable as I found out. When I started asking questions about what was going on that didn't seem right I was told it was none of my business. As an assistant to her I had no communication. She would tell me that she wanted me to do something and then say I didn't do it right. She gave me no training as to how she wanted things done then made up stories to the district manager and after 4 months I was let go. I wrote several letters to the CEO to let him know what was going on and they investigated her and her son and she was fired after working for the company for 3 years. Had I not worked there the unethical things would still be going on.
No one even called me to verify what I said or even thanked me. They were so embarrassed that it took so long to find out and by an honest employee.
Tips and Tricks
- The only tip I have is there is no loyality between companies and employees any longer. I have worked since I was 16 and I'm 67 and let me tell you things have changed for the worst.
