Why I Was Fired
I worked for a popular sub shop that is famous for being "fresh". I went through 4 weeks of orientation, and was fired today. I was trained poorly, and was forced to end my shifts early because my co-workers hated me, even though we knew NOTHING about each other. My problem is that i am physically slow, and that is mainly what got me fired. I am glad that i was fired, because now i can wake up and look forward to the day, rather than dreading when my next shift is.
What Being Fired Has Been Like
I never want to work in the food business any more. It's a living hell. I can't eat a sub anymore, or any sandwich. After having to make 100's of them, I don't want to see another one for the rest of my life. Also, I hate having to help people now, which is why people don't volunteer. I am enjoying this time off, and the sun's a little brighter now. But I am not going down yet! I am looking for other jobs in the area, like grocery stores, or a movie theater. I now see that people can be real jerks. My co-workers all hated me, and set me up to get fired. And on top of that, they had very poor modesty and morals. So, being fired has been a blessing so far, and I am glad I don't have to waste any more of my time there :).
Advice
- Managers see things black and white, they see you as either a good, or a bad employee.
- Communication is key, always ask what you can do to improve, and what areas you're lacking in.
- Find a place where you know the employees are nice to each other, the more they have the better, because in small groups they like to get rid of people they think will ruin the simplicity of their job and try to make them do things the way they want.
