Why I Was Fired

I was terminated for missing a day of work due to an Epileptic seizure. I had FMLA paperwork filed and all my Epilepsy related occurences were to fall under the FMLA guidelines. But due to a settlement that was reached with my company I believe I was fired for being a whistleblower. I had been singled out for months and was increasingly being watched. They have changed their reasonings multiple times over the last few days as to why they fired me, including improper call in procedure (my wife texted my boss after my seizure ended letting him know what had happened). She doesn't know the company guidelines. I had Dr. Note.

What Being Fired Has Been Like

This is absolutely the lowest I have felt in a long time. I have a child on the way and am newly married. I feel completley disrespected and discriminated against. I need to provide for my family and now I am left with nothing because of a disability that I have.

Advice

  • Follow all guidelines, I was told i couldn't share any information about my settlement or company information, and in the end my wife had no clue as to what to do. She did her best to take care of me, and notify my boss. This proves they were hunting for reasons to get me.
