Second Life Overview:
Second Life is a virtual world that can impact your real life job search. Employers are using Second Life to market products, make connections, and even to hire. Individuals are using Second Life to build their career and to job search.

Second Life's virtual world has more than 4.8 million registered users, and its own economy and currency.

Second Life and Recruiting:
TMP Worldwide Advertising & Communications, the recruitment advertising agency, created TMP Island, a space where recruiters can network with prospective candidates, host events, conduct employee presentations, and even build virtual replicas of their real-world offices to connect with job seekers.

Hiring managers and recruiters are using Second Life to market their company and find job candidates.

Second Life and Companies:
Microsoft, Amazon, GM, IBM, Pontiac, Adidas, Toyota, Dell, Cisco Systems, and Reuters are just some of the companies with a presence on Second Life.
How Second Life Works:
Users register for Second Life, create an avatar (a virtual person), then attend orientation where they learn to communicate, move, edit their appearance, and search. After you finish the tutorials, you can start building your Second Life.
