Guide Picks - Career Books
There are almost too many books which offer career guidance for job seekers.  It's hard to know which books are most useful for those seeking employment.  Here are some that have been reviewed by your Job Searching Guide and are among my personal favorites.  These books may be available in your library, or purchased from a local bookstore, an online retailer, or directly from the publisher. 
1) Back Door Guide to Short-Term Adventures
 by Michael Landes
Interested in an international adventure, a summer job, an internship or another short-term experience? This book has thousands of opportunities and is an excellent resource for anyone seeking a short-term work experience.

by Richard Nelson Bolles
This book has been a best selling job-hunting book for over 30 years. Must reading for the job seeker or the career changer.

3) Resumes for Dummies
by Joyce Lain Kennedy
Resume writing made simple. This book includes over 50 sample resumes, plus chapters on e-resumes including how to write them and the best ways to send them out.

4) Cover Letters for Dummies
by Joyce Lain Kennedy
This book takes the mystery out of composing winning cover letters, from what you should say and how you should say it to how the letter should look and on what kind of paper it should be printed.  It also tells you how to say it online and via email.

5) Guide to Internet Job Searching
by Margaret Dikel
From one of the premier authors on using the internet to find jobs. Great source of information on using the internet to assist with your job search.
