Take Your Dog to Work Day 2013

Because I am lucky enough to be able to work from home, every day is Take Your Dog to Work Day for me. My dogs happily lounge around my office and enjoy tennis ball and walk breaks.

For those who work in dog-friendly workplaces, good dogs are always welcome, not-so-good dogs aren't as welcome, because employers don't want the office distrupted.

Even if you do work for a dog-friendly company be sure that your dog has good office manners and your nearby co-workers are comfortable having a dog around. Some people have allergies and others simply aren't like us dog lovers who are always thrilled to meet a new canine friend.

Employees at companies that participate in Take Your Dog to Work Day, which is Friday, June 21, 2013, have an opportunity to bring their dog with them to work at least once a year. Those who bring their dogs to work can enter a photo contest and win a prize for themselves and their local animal shelter.

If you're job searching and you'd love to work at a pet-friendly company, take a look at this list from DogFriendly.com and SimplyHired.com has a page where you can search for jobs at dog-friendly companies.
