If you're looking for a job to get you through the holiday season it's not to late. Employers are still hiring for temp jobs for the holiday. Retailers need workers, as do package delivery services. You don't have a lot of time to work, but there is a chance that your employer will keep you on after the holiday.
From a personal perspective, I've seen help wanted signs in store windows and ads for many companies that are hiring seasonal workers. Ski resorts, if you're in snow country, are in the midst of hiring, as well.
