LinkedIn Goes Mobile

Monday February 25, 2008
For those of us, and that's most of us, who spend a lot of time on the go, you can now take LinkedIn with you. LinkedIn can be used anywhere, if you have a mobile device with web capabilities via LinkedIn Mobile at m.linkedin.com. When you're traveling, you can keep up on updates within your network, research people as you meet them, and add new contacts to your network.

LinkedIn Mobile features include searching and viewing profiles, inviting new connections, access to LinkedIn answers, actionable network updates i.e. forwarding a job posting, and one on one messaging with your contacts. I use the messaging component of LinkedIn all the time - it saves having to send an email - and that will be even more useful doing it from my phone. LinkedIn Mobile optimized for iPhone and is also available for Blackberry and any other Internet enable phone. It's currently available in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese, with additional languages to follow.

This is very good news for LinkedIn users. And, by the way, if you're not a LinkedIn user yet, you should be. It's an excellent tool for job searching and career building. Take a look at how LinkedIn can help with your job search and how your LinkedIn profile can be used as an online resume.
