Depressing
- This is the most depressing stories I have heard. II will not read anymore but I am in the same boat as you all I just live and there is no american dream with our government we the people need to shut washington DC down and start over. GOOD LUCK PEOPLE.

Some help, for those who pursue it.
- I too have been unemployed for nearly a year, now. After my tier 1 extension ran out, I was put on tier 2.This gave me an additional 14 weeks.It will be my last! What happened to tiers 3 and 4??? Obama signed the extension into law in July, extending benefits for 2.3 million people. The only problem is that they ALL end on Nov 27,2010.This means, whichever extension you are on, on Nov 27th, it will be the last. Everyone, should be writing their Senators and Congressmen to put tier 5 through! You can do it online by your state website. Most states also have a fuel assistance, food stamps and other resources, that can help you lower your monthly expenses. This country needs a wake up call, to help the American people first! We give away millions to other countries,bail out the banks, and give jobs to illegals, while the rest of our jobs go overseas!Until we help the American people, the economy will get worse and worse.Mr President, Do your job! America comes first!!!!!!

- We need to send all these letters to the White House.... There is hope if we stand together. I think the unemployment office should be working one on one they are doing nothing. I have gone to them and begged help me they just look at me like im crazy and tell me to go to a resume class.

Feeling trapped
- I've been out of a job since 1/09. Since then until now, I've had only one interview and never heard from them again. They never replied back to my calls or emails. I tried going back to graduate school but they are only accepting certain amount of ppl due to their budget. I tried to volunteer at the local police dept but I disqualification because I am not 40 yrs old or older. I tried another place but they never responded back. I have no money to start up any kind of business or be self employed. I've had tried to be creative!! This really sucks!

What will be left for retirement?
- 2 more wks of unemployment. Age descrimination in alive and well - just impossible to prove in interviews. I don't qualify for any assistance because I'm single and own a house. that will soon change - have to sell the house in order to pay the other bills. There goes all my retirement. ira's, 401k, housing all gone!! Thanks, Washington, hope you live well what with your jobs and free health insurance!!

Just became unemployed
- My part time job was eliminated and a full time job was created in it's place. I was interviewed for "my job" and was told that I was overqualified for the same position I held for the past 21 months. What's up with that? Who could be more qualified to perform the duties other than myself? People knew when I was on a vacation because my job purtained to everyone. "Were you gone last week? The place is a wreck?" I was a custodian for a community college and I did my job well. I even obtained second degree from them while I worked for them. Now I'm overqualified because I have that second degree. I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people who were forced out of their jobs by out-sourcing. These people got education assistance and extended benefits. They have all since graduated and not a single one has gotten a job. They all went to a job fair that was hiring 350 people. Not one of them got an interview! How they justify getting an education?

Looking for answers too
- Am feeling "trapped in paradise"..been out of work since 4/2009, and only one interview out of thousands. My tier of emergency extended benefits ran out in June 2010, and have no means to even travel back to live with family. This is so unfair to the kids...oh, no child support in 5 years either. I live in a county that has no social services and would still like to pretend that the "poor" do not exist, how do I get out of Florida?

STOP OUTSOURCING & WORK VISAS
- It is time for our government to regulate the amount of jobs being outsourced and the amount of jobs being filled by foreigners here in the US. The unemployment figures are staggering, Americans are suffering and need these jobs. Stop all the work visas, etc. until Americas are back to work.

Wishing I knew what to do....
- I have been unemployeed since April of 2009, I had to move in with my daughter just so I would have a roof over my head, I am diabetic and with no insurance, The cost of my mediactions takes most of my unemployment and that doesn't even include to the Doctor's. Now I moved to another state to mooch off my other daughter and her husband in the guise of heloing with the grandchildren. I always thought I would be the one who would have to help them out. My benefits are gone and so now what do I do? Who do I turn to? No young kids so no welfare, medicade, no food stamps. I have applied to temp agencies both here and there, submitted my resume and filled out applications, but no responses. Have gone on job interviews and still nothing... Boy do I need help or some usable suggestions....

Need Help
- My unemployment has run out, I have spent two years trying to get work, and not had any luck. So my Unemployment was a lifeline now it has been exhausted and no extensions, I have no children so welfare is denied, and I am now unable to pay my rent, pay bill or buy food. As from 1st August 2010 I will become homeless and live on the streets, can anyone help?

Unemployment Options
- I would like to say regarding these unemployment extensions, instead of wasting this money offer job training and permanent part-time jobs for people or additional schooling to qualify for the jobs that will be created in the future. It is all about job creation not extending government programs that do not last. We need to create stability for all people at all levels, these is totally getting out of whack and we are all accountable to everyone on this planet, where is the change that was promised about by our leaders in this country??

What other help?
- Apply for what welfare? The lawmakers want to cut welfare programs, too. Then what will we do? I'm able to post this because of my local library. They gave billions upon billions of dollars the banks and car makers, then turned the other way when they in turn, gave millions of dollars in bonuses to their executives. Only a small handful of lawmakers cried foul. How do you single-handedly sentence millions of people to homelessness and starvation to control the deficit? Sorry tea party supporters, but higher taxes are inevitable. Thank your big banks and greedy politicians for that. Thank your greedy politicians for allowing industry to out-source without penalty thereby costing the U.S. millions of valuable jobs. We have to voice our opinions now. We voted them in and we can vote them out. Make your voice heard.

WHAT DO WE DO?
- What can I do I am looking for a job but no one will hire me? I spent 7 years in school to earn a Bachelor's Degree and cannot even use it to find a job. I want a job like everyone else . I am 53 years old and need the money to pay rent, buy food( I get twenty-five dollars in food stamps, what can I but with that except milk, bread ,eggs, cheese and tuna or peanut-butter. That is gone in a week and have to wait a whole month again to get 25.00 again. My unemployment helps me to eat, pay rent, gas too continue to look for a job. I have applied eveywhere in person and on-line my Resume is everywhere they just take it look and me and say we are not hiring right now, but it'll stay on file for "such" and such" months. I know some think I am too old to do the job but I am just as quick as a 25 year old and just as smart. Peole don't care about people now. We put these people into offices in the Senate and in Congress and they make all these promises to get their but once their no help!!

Unemployed
- It seems that I have been unemployed forever. It been almost two-years and fighting depression without having money to go to see a doctor is terrible. I pray and pray look for a job and have been turned down so many times even I stopped counting. Over-qualified or looking for someone within the company to apply. What about people who have to pay bills with the little bit they get? Ask Congress if they care? They have jobs!!

Where Are Our Rights as Americans?
- I have children that have been unemployed for over two years and can not believe the situation of the world. How can you get interviews for small jobs at retail stores and they can tell you that you are over qualified. People need work and when those benefits run out, don't care how many places you are told to go they turn you down. What has happened to the good old USA? When you have 5 kids out of unemployement, husband working a measly 20 hrs week but you are over qualified and nobody wants to help. I feel for my grandchildren and how their lives will be now and in the future.
