The job I lost
I was a Project Manager for a company called GPBI in NC. I was released from my position and began collecting full unemployment benefits on November 11, 2010. I completed the full 26 weeks of my first claim and immediately rolled over into EUC08 and I'm in the middle of Tier 2 of the program. My benefit year ended on Nov. 5, 2011 and I was told to file for a new claim. I filed my first week today and was told that my payment couldn't be processed because there are active issues on my claim for the first time since I began recieving unemployment. I was told there would be no problem but it seems I've been lied to.
What it's like being unemployed
I hate being unemployed. I went from working full time since I was 17 years old to a sudden halt which was definitely a shock to the system. All of my time has been dedicated to finding my next employment opportunity but to no avail as of yet. UI benefits have definitely helped but I'm going to be in hell all day today after getting a message on my claim saying that my payment is on hold until "active issue" are resolved after recieving payments with no delay for an entire year. I don't know what to do. I was told my the office I filed my new benefit year claim thru that there would be no delay or break in my payments but I was obviously given hurried and bad information. No time at all to prepare. Now I'm in between huge rock and hard place with mortgage and bills due within the week. Somebody please tell me what to do.
- I don't have any advice to give except to be diligent when it comes to any questions or problems you may have from the beginning or any that may arise while drawing benefits. I am looking for the answer to my predicament at the moment.
