Quit private practice law job due to concern about firm's level of professionalism.
What it's like being unemployed
Stress is incredible. Sense of failure and regrets about not being perfect in the past. Desire to go back in time to do things better but the realization it is impossible to do so. Law degree is worthless without right pedigree.
Advice
- Go to an elite private school with great job placement or go to a state school for something easy. The grades help you get internships or into better programs that make all the difference.
- Law firms will hire someone with all A's in basket weaving or from a Ivy League school over someone with a degree in something rigorous or relevant with tougher grading standards.
- Never quit a job until you get something stable lined up. You might think something is stable until you get there.
