The job I lost
I was laid off from my job as a CSR for a major life insurance company after 15 years there. It devastated me and my family. I have been unemployed for 1 1/2 years now. I have been on unemployment and now that has run out. I have had three interviews which I didn't ace obviously. I find it very hard to answer their trick questions and undergo interviews after years of not doing them. Then they want an explanation for the long amount of time being jobless.....ummmm...the economy!!!! I live in a state with a 9% rate and can not afford to move. We can not get on food stamps, etc., because I am married to a working husband
What it's like being unemployed
Very very stressful and devastating. I cry every day and am scared about our future. Creditors do not care......mortgage company does not care....power company does not care....THANK GOD for our families....mainly my mother...for helping out.
Advice
- When you have a job, keep it. When the company is downsizing, get out immediately and find a job.
