The job I lost
I have two college degrees and I worked 15 years consecutively before being laid off in 2009. I'm 31. I have to vacate my apartment next week; my daughter and I have no where to go. I spend endless hours applying for positions through Careerbuilder, Monster, and Simply Hired- rejection-rejection! I can't understand why employers will not offer dislocated, but qualified applicants opportunities first. The rich are getting more greedier and wealthier, while the poor suffers. I'm not voting for anybody!
What it's like being unemployed
Very depressing! Many days my tears saturate my pillows. I had an interview last week for a position as a scientist and then the recruiter called me back to say that my skills aren't needed. I begged and was hired for a caregiver position, 7 bucks a hour. I got hired, but no hours!!! America is narrow minded, they can't seem to understand that most applicants have transferable skills. My car is near is near repossession, no home in 6 days, and my cell will be turned off Saturday. I'm ready to hit rock bottom---I'm just tired.
Advice
- Keep praying that you won't lose your mind. Jesus is a sustainer!
