The job I lost
I lost my job as a District Manager when the company I worked for went bankrupt. At the beginning of the economy crash. I managed to get another position as a Retail District Manager with a large department store. After two months of training and without even really working on the job, I was laid off along with 5000 others in the company due to restructuring.
What it's like being unemployed
Being unemployed since 2008 has been a nightmare filled with resumes, cover letters, very few face to face interviews and a brand new understanding of a monumental problem called "Age Discrimination" that now affects anyone over 40!!
Advice
- Age discrimination is an obvious case of accusing another human being, of being inferior. Does anyone really think that age discrimination is so distinguishable from racism, sexism and the like that this country is justified in perpetuating it? Doesn't this go against our moral code?
- To discriminate based on age, is the same as the discrimination based on race. This is a real problem, that affects not only senior citizens but anyone over 40! Stand against age discrimination NOW, before it affects you
