The job I lost
I worked at night as a cleaner at a Daycare at the Jeremiah programs in St Paul. About a month ago my dad got really sick and had surgery and was having a really hard time. My Dad was the daycare for me and my two boys. (It's really hard to find a daycare at night). Being a single mom i need all the help I can get. Well, for a couple of nights my sister could not care for my boys. My dad was coming home from the hospital. It would be hard for her to care for my kids, her kids plus care for my dad. My dad was my back-up daycare. So I brought my kids to work. I went late at night. But someone saw them and reported me and I was fired.
What it's like being unemployed
I was barely making it. But I was making ends meet. I worked and I liked my job. I'm running behind on all my bills. Pretty soon everything is going to be shut off. My lights will be shut off and home phone. Cell phone was shut of 2 weeks ago. I don't know where the rent is coming from. I tried to file for unemployed and I was ineligible because i was fired. The letter said it was misconduct at work and that's why they had to fire me. I guess being unemployed sucks. I work to stay off the walfare but guess where I have to go? The really big kicker is that I worked for a place that helps single mothers.
