The job I lost
I was working for a privately owned Legislation firm for over 12 years. I was laid off with over 10 people in my department. This happened last year. My benefits will be over this month. I still haven't found a job in the field I was in. So I did research on schools so that I can get a better job. I wanted to go to a college where I can get a degree and credits. I'm over $10,000 in debt now late in my payments some over 90 days. Now that I found college in which I can get a degree with credits in the medical field. They will not extended. So now I have to take any job just to pay rent or I will have no where to live
What it's like being unemployed
In the beginning for about almost 2 months I was so depressed couldn't believe it after 12 yrs they would lay me off. I had to start all over again from beginning. Writing resumes sending them out, emailing them to different companies and agencies. Searching for jobs on the internet. Posting my resume on different websites. Going to different places to fill out applications or going on line to fill them out. Some companies do credit check. So I wouldnt even apply for them. Since bein unemployed its been so hard to keep up with my bills on time. I struggle with paying my rent, light, telephone and food every month
Advice
- My advice is not to give up. I'm not going to give up. I will still look in inbox to see what job is new in all the agencies where I posted my resumes. I will keep looking on the internet everyday and the newspapers also.
