I Need a Miracle to Happen

The job I lost

I lost my job in Feb. 2009. I worked for an auto parts distributor. I had been at my job for 4 years and was thinking that I was pretty secure there, even with the recession going on.

I find out that I don't need to worry about anything because they are looking for people that know the most in the office. So I knew that I was okay, considering that I knew the most in the office.

One day, I get called to the operation managers office with my boss and HR person, and it's 4:30 in the evening, I get off at 5:00. They say sorry, got to let you go, due to lack of work. So I have not found work since, it's hard.

What it's like being unemployed

Scary, uneasy felling being unemployed. I have 2 kids and a husband in my house and I don't know what we are going to do now that my extension is done and I don't get another extension.

I have customer service experience..several years, but I am willing to do anything making at least $9.50 an hour, FT.

I am in school during the day to get a better job in the near future.

For now, it' scary, I need help. I have filled out at least 250 applications online since I lost my job in Feb. 2009. It seems to be a dead end there. I just recently got a car so I can get around to get applications done in person, but I have to do that after school which is anytime after 2 pm. I just need a miracle to happen, SOON.

Advice

  • That you should appreciate the job you have when you have it, don't take it for granted.
