I lost my job in Nov 2008.
What it's like being unemployed
For a long time I was not even called on all my applications that I submitted and I have sent out thousands. I recently I was lucky and went on 4 interviews for 4 different companies.
I feel I did very well in the interview and I was also commented on it. I believe I did not get hired because of my age. I am 55 years old. Everyone that was laid off at my previous job were over 40 and none have been able to find a job. Even though I may not look like I am 55 you can tell I am older than those conducting the interviews. I need a job or unemployment coming in or I wont make it.
