How I was discriminated against
This one particular position I applied for as a customer service representative, last year really made me feel so discriminated against.
I knew without a doubt, that I was an excellent candidate for this position, and was even told after the first interview, that they had a great interest in me, so of course, I was not even going to let the thought of being 50 years old bother me.
Well, I was called for a second interview, but then a third!
So after waiting and not hearing nothing after a week, and talking with a person who had applied once before, I soon found out; I was too old for them!
What it's like being an older or younger job seeker
It is a very depressing thing looking for employment as a older job seeker!
I mean how dare some of today's companies discriminate, just because a person may be over their desired age for hiring.
If anything, older individuals will and can do a job better, and can always be reliable.
Lessons Learned
- I just accept what I cannot change, and know that it's their loss!
