How I was discriminated against
I have put in a ton of apps. for a job in the last 2 years. I am discriminated against because of my age and health. At each job I have been to, they say thanks and we will call, but never do.
I know some of the jobs, that I have 25 years exp. but no call at all. It is like they are saying Thanks, but no Thanks
What it's like being an older or younger job seeker
I am turning 50 years old this year without a job. I have been in route sales, and other sales for 25 years, but no one will hire me at this age.
Sometimes, I don't even feel like trying anymore! I am willing and wanting to work. I have worked since I was 9 years old. I have learned that getting older in the work place is not better these days.
I was trying to get a job and there were mostly young people there, and I knew I didn't even have a chance. I have more exp. than they had been alive, but dew to my age, no phone call.
Lessons Learned
- I know that no one will hire us at 50 and up, anymore, even though we are the hard and honest people of this USA. They didn't mind using us in the Air Force, why not now!
