How I was discriminated against
I am 61 years old and have looked for work since last year. I always paid my taxes and now will be out of unemployment. There goes my home that I am solely responsible for, and my car!
So sad - 61, worked all my life, and paid all my taxes since I began work at 19.
Please have compassion because there are no jobs. If you were in this predicament, you would know!
Pray for us, the thousands of us, please!
What it's like being an older or younger job seeker
It's so sad and frightening to lose everything you have, everything that you have worked hard to keep for so many years. I have paid my taxes since I was 18, and I have worked all my life for many years.
Lessons Learned
- I know extensions cost money, but surely it can be extended for some months longer. We are hard-working Americans and alot of us are at least in our 50's and early 60's. It's so hard to find a job, even at McDonald's!
