How I was discriminated against
I'm 58 years old and haven't even been seriously considered for a job offer.
What it's like being an older or younger job seeker
I am 58 years old and have been out of work for almost 2 years. I have sent out more than 260 resumes and have been on 5 or 6 interviews. I finally got a part time job, 2 days a week.
I was at my last job for almost 12 years when my position was eliminated. I have good qualifications, good job history, excellent work ethics and rarely take any sick time, but no one will give me a chance. The job I have is a travesty. I am more qualified than the woman I work for. I could do this job by myself and have time left over. She (my boss)has 2 part time people to help her.
