What I Did:

I had my own business fixing televisions, stereo, and other electronic equiptment from the 80`s to 2000. The business started to go south in 2000 and I got a job in this electronic company. This place made products for home automation and security and delt with high end clients. My job was testing and repairing different products they made and I was doing well until 2005.

Why was it a bad job?

When I first started they had around 100 employees and it was a pleasant place to work, a family type of atmosphere, but then it started to change. They bought a new building and started hiring all sorts of new people. They would hire people and if they couldn`t do the job they were hired for they put them in management.

Then in 2005 I decided to try to learn more and went to a different department. No matter what you did it was never the right thing for the supervisor. I couldn`t get out of the department because they said if you left you would be fired. At one point I remember there was an incident involving a test procedure and I had found a flaw in it and instead of thanking me they fired me. Anyway after I left I found out that this place was firing people every day. Now 5yrs. later they have a full page ad for people in the local paper.

Tips and Tricks

  • It is very hard to explain what the place was really like, but I now know what politics is really like. And if these lice can`t get people in this economy when it gets better they will fold. Their reputation will finally catch up.
