What I Did:
I worked at an auto parts store for 3 years. In those three years, I had 3 managers, 2 assistant managers and several other employees fired, quit, etc. I felt like a long timer at just 3 years! The company hires cheap labor and then expects high performance out of them and seems shocked when they dont make BUDGET! And, to top it all off, they fired me because I couldn't handle problem customers! You know, the ones that cuss and yell and threaten. I just call the police since thats what POLICE ARE FOR! and I got fired for doing so. I was warned about working for this company before I applied there, but I didnt listen!
Why was it a bad job?
No company loyalty. Hires bad employees with no skills. Hires managers who have no experience. Rewards customers who cheat the company out of money and then punishes the employee for doing what the policy tells him to do!
Tips and Tricks
- Corporations are not people, they are numbers on the stock exchange. Those who love working for corps are more interested in making money than doing whats best for the employees of the company.
- Bad customer service is not simply how a employee handles a bad customer. It has more to do with how an employee handles a good customer in a bad situation. Rewarding bad customers with what they want only creates more headache for employees down the road and ultimately hurts the good customers with less than perfect experiences.
