What Happened During The Interview?
I sat a scheduled interview with two of the firm executives. Throughout the interview, one of them was leading through the conversation and the other was sitting quiet and "observing" so I fell into the trap of responding to the lead speaker and his every questions, I answered them in a responsive manner so to show responsiveness. And all of the sudden the quiet interviewee in a "sinister" manner jumped in and ask technical questions and I did follow through and answer these questions, and in my opinion the answers were credible and valid. However, he wasn't looking too friendly from the beginning of the interview.
How Did the Interview Turn Out?
The interview turned out to be horrible and I have never heard anything back from them since. I am still puzzled by the sinister attitude of one of the interviewers. I dressed appropriately, I am black so I had my hair platted neatly and I must also point out that it was the first and only horror job interview of mine, I speculate that there was some degree of racism that I sensed from the beginning.
Advice
- Forget attending an interview if you somewhat sense some degree of racism (Must I explain the symptoms?) or forget attending one if you sense that interviewee has irrational attitude towards you for being you without even hearing what you're about.
