What Happened During The Interview?
I get a call from the HR department, they would like to record question and answers, and later pass this onto the Hiring Manager. The questions had very little to do with the job duties. However I did very well. The Hiring Manager set a day to call me, and never called. He did call me back a few days later, and I just happen to answer the phone, but I answered more questions correctly. Perhaps it was his way of making sure I was not ready for the interview. Stange people in management that should not be.
How Did the Interview Turn Out?
In person interview when well, but the Hiring Manager felt I knew too much. After answering all the question correctly, he felt he could make me upset by asking questions that have nothing to do with the job, but with another job. Just to see how I would handle it. He would not look at me, nor would he listen to my answers, he just went to the next question. As I try to get more information reqarding his questions he would just move onto the next question.
Advice
- If the process starts off bad, do you really want to work for a company that lets a Manager set all his own rules? Good thing I have been doing the job many years, and know what I am talking about. However, I would never let something like this happen again. I would just tell them, no thanks and move onto the next interview. Always have a few jobs to pick from.
