What Happened During The Interview?
I was greeted by the president of the company. He asked me if I wanted a glass of water and I said yes, so he had someone bring me one. 2 IT managers and a consultant interviewed me. I thought it went well and answered as best I could although the consultant threw a question at me where I knew he was lying about something deliberate or not. So I diplomatically gave the best answer I could. Everybody seemed to like me and we all shook hands and I stood up. I didn't know what to do with my water, and the IT manager said he'd take care of it. He took it rather awkwardly and I said "It's ok, I don't have cooties."
How Did the Interview Turn Out?
I didn't get the job. I called twice the first week and then once a week for a few weeks. I also sent a thank you note when I got back. Nobody would say why they didn't hire me but I guess I was sunk by a glass of water.
Advice
- If they offer you anything to drink, politely decline, even if you're really thirsty. Also relax - I think I was too nervous.
