Why I Was Fired
A work colleague and myself saved for Christmas for several years. I collected the money from her on a weekly basis and this always ran well. I was asked if she could have her money. I gave her $1090 and had to get the $295 from my bank. This would have given her the balance of what she had saved. She went and told my boss about this and he has fired me for gross misconduct. In my opinion this was a personal arrangement and should never have been a work issue. I feel my boss has wanted an excuse to get me out for a long time and feel he has used this to do so. This has destroyed my reputation after working there for 7 years
What Being Fired Has Been Like
This has destroyed my life. I had my daughter taken away from me last year by my ex, had numerous court hearings regarding this. Lost friends through our break up as they were originally friends of my ex. Since me leaving my job I have had a photo sent on my mobile from a work colleague and it is a picture of my daughter with a sticker over her face. This was so vindictive and hurt me real bad. I really feel my life has come to an end
Advice
- Never trust work colleagues. They stab you in the back and think it is funny. However when you have no income, on tablets for depression nobody really cares
