Why I Was Fired
I was working in a manufacturing business which makes hockey sticks. My job was assisting a co-worker with cleaning out KCV parts. The situation was I had a little "my time" for myself, so my coworker was telling me about his job and what this equipment does. Then, my coworker said we have a computer over here that we could use to "check our email." So, I checked my email and found an X dating site. So I clicked it and images of naked women popped up. Anyway, I closed out of the site. So, the following day I was working, my boss approached me and said they will let me go for violating company policy
What Being Fired Has Been Like
Being fired was a surprise to me. I thought nothing of it until my boss approached me and brought up the situation. I agreed with him about what I did, yet I feel disappointed about it and I never thought anything of it. Now I'm applying for unemployment and have to tell my next employer that I was terminated and might have to confess what happened and what I have learned from this situation.
Advice
- Any form of pornography that comes up out work can get me fired. So, I've decided to not even get involved with it even at home. However, don't think you can't get a job because of getting fired. I just lost my job yesterday and now looking for work hard, but I have time to write this. I've learned from this experience and will gladly tell the next possible employment interviewer about how I've learned from this situation and not to do it again. People make mistakes, and pornography is everywhere now. It's the ones that don't quite control it who get in trouble!
