Why I Was Fired

I worked for a government organization for 5 years and was excessively sexually harassed, bullied and lied on continuously. After I complained about it and filed a complaint, I was fired. I was fired right at 5 years with the organization as a permanent employee. The Human Resources Department did absolutely nothing except let the harasser(s) get away with it.

I have been gone from the job for several months and they are still interfering with my life. Preventing me from gaining employment elsewhere..Read the entire story on JOB.SCHMOB.COM http://www.jobschmob.com/articleList.cgi?type=20&start=0

What Being Fired Has Been Like

It is an experience like any other. I take things one day at a time and still try to stay optimistic as possible. There was a post that was on another site that was very profound to any situation that a very smart person submitted. It was the story about an old man, his young son and a donkey....The morale of the story is that you can not please everybody.

Advice

  • Companies do searches and reviews regarding employees all the time before hiring them. I know the job market is still shaky because of the economy but be cautious before taking any job. Conduct your own research on the company or organization prior to taking any position, especially those of which that have high turnover. I should have done that, but unfortunately did not. It will save you a lot of headaches. If I had known that I would have gone through all this before getting that job, trust me I would have never taken it no matter how much it paid. I wish I could rewind time.
