What I Did:
I was fresh out of school and very little experience, and in the middle of the Recession, I landed a job at an Architecture office.
How I Did It:
I flipped through architecture offices and called them up. I introduced myself and told them my situation and asked if they were hiring. I took notes on who I called and also who I had gotten responses from. I had gotten a few leads, and the one that I liked the most actually asked for an interview.
I got hired and have been working since for a year now.
Advice
- Keep a book about your job search and take notes on who you've contacted what their names are, dates, etc.
- Don't be shy, and be confident on your best abilities.
- Know what you want.
