What I Did:
My first paying job was working class registration for the local university. I loved the job. I got to interact with the students. It was busy, chaotic, but rather fulfilling because I was helping other people. I didn't move on... the job was a temporary one every semester and it ended when they computerized the system and no longer needed student workers.
How I Did It:
My brother was working registration before I did and he recommended me when I started college. There was nothing unusual about how I got the job - personal recommendations are how I've gotten many positions.
Advice
- Every job gives you opportunities to learn something new about yourself
- learned I liked working on behalf of others.
