Buccaneer Satellite/MultibandMy Review
My husband has worked with Buccaneer Satellite/Multiband/Direct TV for 6 months and he has been there longer than any other employee/sub contractor.
From the beginning he was lied to about initial expences, daily expenses, area he was to service (as he has to pay for gas to travel his so called route), and the general "rules" he has to abide by. It initally cost us about $5000 to start. We were not told this, at first it was $100 for ladder, then $500 for Byrd Dog, and on and on. Until you can't afford to stay, but you can't afford to quit due to the investment. Some of the money for expenses is "loaned" by the owner, then is deducted from your check. Then you have weekly material costs, which wasn't told to us either, that is loaned by the owner. So you'll never make up the cost. We were told no more than $50 would come out of each weekly check. When actually she took $400-500 out of each check. And nothing is accounted for.
You have no idea what you've purchased, you owe, or is owed you. Then they have you drive all over ( almost to Houston , other far away routes) when initally told you would have a local route. One day he drove 400 miles round trip. No gas is ever paid. No to mention all the other crazy expectations of Direct Tv. At any time, if a customer calls Direct TV, even just to see what time their tech. is going to show up to install their satellite because they have to run to the store, or they don't understand how to work the satellite guide when they have been shown (understandably, it's hard for older people), you are charged $35 for every call. And if your late to a appt., even though you were over scheduled and there is NO POSSIBLE WAY to make it on time, your charged $100.
There is no voice of reason for any of these companies, and no one to take up for the technicians. If your unable to meet their needs financially or physically your terminiated. It's really unbelievably crazy that they are allowed to run a national business this way. These are just some of the things they did to us, and the other 10 tech.s that quit.
