Insourcing

By , About.com Guide

Definition: Insourcing is when a company fills a position with someone already employed within the company.

The opposite of insourcing is outsourcing - the hiring of someone outside of the company. One benefit of insourcing is that the employer already knows the abilities and qualifications of the candidate.
