What to Wear to a Call Center Job Interview

Your interview for a call center position is your opportunity to present yourself as an efficient professional, and what you wear is a big part of that key first impression. Your potential employer needs to know that you are going to represent the company appropriately to clients and management on the floor of the center, as well as to customers on the phone.

What to Wear to a Call Center Job Interview

Business casual is always appropriate for a call center interview.

Men should wear dress slacks or chinos, a button down shirt, optionally with a tie or jacket, a belt, dark socks, and dress shoes.

Women should wear dress slacks, a skirt just above the knee or longer, a blouse, sweater, or twinset which is not too low cut, and closed toe shoes. Jewelry and handbags should be conservative.

All candidates should minimize or conceal piercings other than in the ears, and tattoos.

Bring a briefcase or portfolio with a copy of your resume, a pad of paper, a pen that works, and breath mints (be sure to finish just before shaking hands). Turn the volume off on your phone.
