Job Interview Answer: Have You Accomplished Something You're Proud Of At Work?

By , About.com Guide

When you are applying for an entry level position a typical job interview question is "Have you completed any internships? What did you gain from the experience?"

Here are sample interview answers which you can edit to fit your personal experiences and background:

  • The manager of the department where I did an internship last summer was so impressed with my communication skills, that she asked me to make a presentation to the Board of Directors about the project I was working on.
  • While I was student teaching, there was one child who was having a particularly difficult time grasping one of the concepts the teacher was trying to explain. I asked to take the student aside to work with her, and when she finally got it, it was like a candle lit her up from the inside. I knew then that I had definitely chosen the right profession.
  • While I was doing research for my graduate thesis, my adviser, a leading authority in the field, asked me to guest lecture in her senior undergraduate class on my thesis topic.
