Here's How:
  1. Visit or call your state unemployment office
  2. Ask your current employer about severance pay, accrued vacation and sick pay
  3. Request information on continuance of health and life insurance benefits
  4. Ask about outplacement resources 
  5. Request a reference letter for your files
  6. Use community resources for internet access and for access to software and printers to produce your resume
  7. Research and determine career options
