Not only will you be showing your appreciation, you can also recap your qualifications and offer additional information about your skills and experience.

Contrary to what you may think, most managers don't mind a phone call after an interview. In fact, according to an Accountemps survey, the most appropriate ways to deliver an interview follow up thank you are by email (87%) and phone (81%), followed by a handwritten thank you note (38%). Survey respondents could select multiple options, which is why there is an overlap.

One thing that's good about a phone call is that it provides an opportunity for discussion. Rather than a one-sided email message or a handwritten note, a call means a conversation and that conversation is an opportunity to sell yourself, one more time, to the interviewer.
