Person typing on computerI've heard from several About.com readers recently about scams on Craigslist and other sites that list jobs for writers and researchers.

There are several variations on the theme. Some of the posters ask for lengthy writing samples to evaluate your work, but don't hire you. Other scammers do hire you to write or do product reviews, but don't pay you.

Job applicants may even go through what seems like a legitimate interview process - including email correspondence, Skype interviews and signing a work for hire agreement. It all sounds really good - until you don't get paid.
