Good tips! A cover letter should essentially make the connection between the skill & experience-based qualifications in your resume, and your personal and professional interests in that particular company. So while you’ll be addressing key aspects of your experience, you also want to discuss things that appeal to you about the culture, the work, the company itself, to position yourself as a culture fit for the organization as well.
