When Do Employers Notify Job Applicants?

On the PhoneWhen do employers notify applicants whether they are selected to interview? After you submit a job application or send a resume to apply for a job, you might hear back right way, it might take a while, or you may never, unfortunately, hear about the status of your application.

I think the speed record for getting rejected was the four minute rejection letter received by one of our site visitors. He received a nice automated response saying that his resume would be forwarded to the recruiting team to review. Four minutes later he received an automated rejection letter saying that he wasn't going to be considered for the position.

For those job seekers who are qualified (or lucky) enough to get selected to interview, there are a variety of ways employers contact applicants to schedule interviews. You may receive a message from a system like the automated system mentioned above, or you may receive a phone call or email inviting you to schedule an interview or advising you that you have been pre-scheduled for an interview at a set date and time.
