Help Me Find a Job

Hire MeI've lost count of how many times I've heard the plea "help me find a job" or "help me get a job" but there is help available for those who are job searching.  There are many online job search resources, as well as in-person assistance for job seekers that are available for free or at a low cost.

In addition, the job market is starting to pick up.  I'm seeing more job postings online, more help wanted ads, and more "We Are Hiring" signs in store windows.  So, this is a better time to job search than it has been in years.

What can be a challenge is to know where to start and what is the best way to get help.  Our Job Search Guide includes all the resources you'll need for a successful  job search including how to write resumes, cover letters, the best sites to look for jobs, how to conduct a job search, and how to interview successfully and negotiate compensation.

When you need personal one-on-one assistance, take advantage of the services available in your local community.   Here's how to tap into free and low-cost job search help services.   If you have a question, stop by our Discussion Forum or our Facebook Page and our expert volunteers will be glad to assist.

Don't wait to get started though. You can use the job search engines to find job listings fast.  If you haven't used social networking sites to job search, you can start quickly and easily.  Here's how to get started integrating social networking into your job search.

Remember that you have a personal network that can help, as well. Your family, your friends, and former co-workers can all help you with job leads and support like reviewing your resume and cover letters. Here's information on career networking including who can assist and how they can help.

If you're interested in a retail, part-time or summer job in your home town, many employers still accept in-person job applications or you can apply online from home.

It's still a challenging job market, so don't get discouraged if you don't find a new job right away.  Get the help you need, keep plugging away and the right position will come along.
