The official holiday for Christmas Day is Tuesday, December 25. If you work for a company that closes for Christmas Day and/or Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24, for the holiday your employer is not required to pay you for the day off.
Some private sector employers may give employees a paid holiday on Christmas Day or the day after, but they aren't obligated to pay you for the day off.
Unless you work for the federal government, are covered by a contract that provides for holiday pay, or work for an employer that provide paid holidays for its employees you won't get paid extra for working on the holiday or paid if you don't work that day.
