The Federal Government provides employees with nine paid holidays, including Veterans Day. Veterans Day is observed on November 11, however, this year November 11th is a Sunday, so the legal holiday will be Monday, November 12, 2012.
Private sector employers may provide holidays off or holiday pay for working on holidays, but they are not required to pay you extra for time worked on a holiday or to give you the day off from work.
