If you're looking for a part time job to earn some extra money during the holiday season, you might be surprised at how quick and easy it is to apply for a seasonal retail job.
You can apply online or in-person. Stores usually have applications on a table in the front of the store and they are so simple that they only take a few minutes to complete. With the basic applications, all you need to complete is your name and phone number and the shifts you are able to work.
With the more detailed ones, you have to fill out your name and contact information, when (days and hours) you are available to work, the weeks you are available, and where you have worked (name of company, dates of employment, position).
In some cases, the company will want to know whether you can work on specific dates. For example, some companies have a minimum holiday work commitment of a certain number of hours each holiday week.
Before you go, make a quick list of all the information you'll need, so you're ready to complete an on-the-spot job application, and review these part time job search tips. Dress appropriately, be ready for an interview, and you may just have a job offer much sooner than you expected!

Excellent advice Alison. You never know if the manager will be available to interview right on the spot. So although you may think you’re “just going to pick up an application” dress as if you are on your way to an interview!

I would like to know where you go to find legitimate mystery shopping opportunities. I have been all over the internet and the only ones I find are for drawings or while you don’t have to pay to be a member, you have to order something or they pay you .50 to answer an online questionaire they say will take 10 minutes and 45 minutes later you have completed it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Even though the holiday season is here, the economy is still slow. People looking for part-time jobs, especially students, are finding it hard to find jobs right now because companies are cutting hours and even laying off employees. Another option to finding a job at a retail store, is to start your own entrepreneurial experience.
Vector Marketing offers flexible hours, base pay with great commission, opportunity to work in your hometown or away at school, opportunity for advancement before graduation, and career opportunities after graduation. As a Vector employee, you learn and build your communication skills, leadership abilities, goal setting and following a plan to accomplish them, and interpersonal skills. Mastering these traits will help you, or any student while in college, as well as in any career you choose; so not only will Vector help people financially but also personally and professionally.
Although a job at Vector Marketing may not ultimately be for everyone, it could end up being something you really enjoy doing and very lucrative.
