If you have a Labor Day BBQ on your agenda, are spending the holiday at the beach, or have other plans for the long weekend, don't be afraid to mix business and pleasure.
If you're job hunting, plan on spending some time job search networking at social events. From the job search etiquette perspective, it's definitely acceptable to tell people you meet at a BBQ, on the beach, or at another social event that you're in the midst of a job search.
Job search networking isn't as hard as you may imagine - it's just a matter of working your job search into the conversation at the appropriate time. In fact, just about any social event is a terrific way to mix business with pleasure and to take advantage of a chance to boost your job search.
