Southwest AirlinesSouthwest Airlines has always had a reputation as a great company to work for.  Such a good reputation, in fact, that they received 193,636 resumes and hired 4,349 new employees in 2011.

In 2010,  Southwest received 143,143 resumes and 2,188 of those applicants were hired.

Southwest was the first airline to establish a profit-sharing plan and its starting salaries are among the highest in the airline industry.  Just as important, Southwest has always been known as a fun place to work and a company that treats its employees really well.   One of the reasons is Southwest's customer relations philosophy - well treated employees means well-treated customers.

Here's more information on job opportunities with Southwest.  You'll be able to search for and apply for jobs online (that's the only way job applications are accepted) and get more information on working at Southwest.

One thing to keep in mind, before you apply, is how competitive the application process is.   Given the job market that's the norm these days, so it's really important to make sure, when applying for any job, that your resume and cover letter are perfect.  Carefully proofread both and ask someone else to proof for you, as well.  It's easy to miss our own typos, so a second pair of eyes is always helpful.
