If you're getting ready to relax and enjoy a long Labor Day weekend with family and friends, plan ahead and consider how you can work job search networking into your upcoming get-togethers.

It's definitely acceptable to let people you meet at a family gathering, a party, or another event know that you're looking for a job.   Most people are happy to help, but they can't help if they don't know that you're job searching.

Career networking isn't as hard as you might think. It's just a matter of mentioning your job search at the appropriate time and not monopolizing the discussion.  Here's more about networking and how you can work a crowd to help get work.
